You honestly think Hitchens is still relevant? The man is a drunken, self hating Trotskyite from way back... He hates everyone associated with organized religion because he's a dyed in the wool atheist.

As for your shock at how we, as a nation, have regressed in matters of race since the Rev's assassination at the hands of the KKK, of the forty years since his death there has been a republican in the White House for twenty eight of them, I would say that alone was sufficient explanation for regression.
