You really need to see a doctor about this... your head is so up your ass it is no longer funny. You gleefully forget about numerous Popes, several demented French, English, German and Italian potentates... The Inquisition (both French and Spanish), the British Mandate, Adolph Hitler and Alan Ladd. All inspired by a fetishistic desire to rule the world and lay waste to heathen aspirations of the very same outright silly aim. Get an effing grip.
Alan Ladd??
Whether or not their desires were fetishistic, none of the sundry cast of characters you mention were authentic Christians, were they?
Nazism, as I understand it, was essentially a secular, quasi-scientific movement; sort of Darwinism gone wrong.
Anyway, my point is that those people either misused Christianity or outright ignored it.
The problem that we face with Islam is that the jihadi's appear to be authentic Muslims. They're literally following a text that allows for nothing other than a literal interpretation.
As with all 'fundamentalist' they manipulate their scriptures as they see fit... We are not at war with 1.2 billion muslims merely an unhinged, well organized fraction as unpopular in their own society as they are in ours. The Koran does not sanction violence against other 'People of the Book' and the Jihadi's have to twist and defile the writings to encourage and recruit new zealots. Much as we in the west disregard the words of Jesus in order to justify state sponsored executions, institutional bigotry and racism and the singular pursuit of individual wealth. I can't recall one single passage of the New Testament where Jesus condoned any of those actions.
I just Googled "koran jihad" and found this http://answering-islam.org/Quran/Themes/jihad_passages.html.
Looks to me like there's plenty of killing advocated there.
There is an awful lot of smiting in the OT too. The NT... not so much.
